What our clients say…
Bargoed RFC have worked with Dale Gibbons of ‘The Physio Joint ‘, for over five years as the primary provider for medical and physiotherapist services in a semi-professional rugby environment. This has included managing the medical team, liaising with the Welsh Rugby Union, and providing support in both the training and match day environment. Dale has a wealth of experience and expertise and is well organised, knowledgable, motivated, and professional in his approach to managing player welfare. In terms of his ability in providing those services, he is very approachable and has excellent people skills, being player focussed, which has inspired a high level of confidence from our players in his abilities.
I first started working with Dale in 2008 when he became Team Physiotherapist for Manchester Phoenix. As a player/coach I have had personal experience of both receiving treatment and having him as part of my team. Dale has provided me and my players with an exceptional standard of diagnosis and treatment. I have received positive feedback from my players regarding Dale’s professionalism and accuracy in diagnosing their problems and getting them back to full fitness in a timely manner.
In 2012 I became the coach of the GB Ice Hockey Team and did not hesitate in approaching Dale to join our team. Dale subsequently remained the team physio for 2 years travelling with us to championships and Olympic qualifying events around the world.
I hold Dale and his Physiotherapy services in high regard and would definitely recommend him to anyone requiring physio.
I first started working with Dale over 7 years ago as part of the Manchester Phoenix Ice Hockey Club. During that time I’ve had numerous injuries ranging from a dislocated shoulder to groin strains and ankle sprains. Dale has worked with me every step of the way to get me back on the ice in the quickest time possible and I can safely say that without Dale’s help and expertise I wouldn’t have been able to perform the way I have over these past 7 years. I would highly recommend his services to anyone looking for an accurate diagnosis and quick and effective rehabilitation of any injuries.
As Player Performance Manager at Salford Red Devils, I found that the service and contribution made by our Academy Physio, Dale Gibbons, to be invaluable to our environment. We found him to be reliable and conscientious, arriving punctually for our sessions.
He built up a good rapport with players and staff and was very informative demonstrating good lines of communication.
He always put the needs of the player first with treatment of injuries and rehabilitation. He was happy to stay behind to ensure written notes were detailed and complete.
Dale is a physio who demonstrates a good work ethic, gets along with staff and players, and in my opinion would enhance any sporting environment.
I can’t thank Dale enough for the work he did to get me moving again after I had a fall. It left me unable to walk properly for months and there’s only so far NHS physio could get me. As a skier I was really worried that it would impact on my ability on the slopes and the first season after my accident I could tell my legs didn’t have the strength they’d previously had. Plus I was experiencing pain daily. More than a year after I’d fallen, I was complaining to my GP about how I was struggling and he suggested I see a sports physio. After an initial assessment, Dale’s conclusion was that I needed some intensive work on my legs. Those first couple of weeks of daily squats were such hard work, but I began to see results. He worked with me on building strength and mobility through a series of exercises and the results were fantastic. I can’t believe how much I improved. My ski legs are in better shape now than they were before the fall. Dale really focused on my long term goals and built me up, bit by bit and was great at explaining what parts of the body I needed to work and how they’d help. He was a great motivator and I can’t recommend him highly enough.
Dale started work on my leg and back. It’s going to take a while, But feels better already just after one appointment I highly recommend Dale.
My sessions at the physio joint following my recent hip replacement were instrumental to my full recovery . Every session was encouraging and motivating.
I received clear guidance as to what exercises to carry out at home with positive feedback and guidance each week on next steps to continue and improve. I would highly recommend this business to anyone needing physio support.
During recovery from spinal surgery my hospital physio suggested I start Pilates lessons to help with my recovery. I was reluctant to just join a gym class and maybe do more damage. After an internet search and some personal recommendations, I contacted the physio joint.
After an initial assessment to check my ability, I signed up for my first lesson with the peace of mind that the instructors were all qualified physios.
I found the lessons informal and friendly, with a good workout. Pilates has been a great help with my recovery helping to rebuild my strength after surgery.
Going into the lesson after a day at work and feeling sore I come out feeling much better, with reduced pain. I have increased the sessions to two a week and have recommended it to a couple of friends who have also found Pilates great.
After experiencing lower back pain for several weeks, an appointment was made at the highly recommended The Physio Joint. I experienced fantastic service whilst booking, Dale managed to see me the same day, much to my relief.
The initial consultation was thorough, Dale asked lots of questions and really listened to me. The problem was diagnosed. Dale took time to explain clearly and in detail what was causing the pain and the treatment he’d give to relieve it. The practice is spotlessly clean, well organised with a welcoming atmosphere. Dale is very professional, calm, patient and knowledgeable. He has a lovely manner, he made me feel very comfortable and was reassuring when I voiced my concerns.
5 sessions later lots of comprehensive advice and suggestions for home exercises, the lower back pain had eased.
Dale recommended I attend a Pilates class at the practice, this has proven to be the most brilliant advice and has had a really positive impact on my life.
The Physio Joint is a first class experience in so many ways. A wonderful team who are dedicated and extremely good at what they do.
Dale at The Physio Joint recommended Pilates to strengthen my core and ease lower back pain. At the age of 48 I’m mortified to say it was the first class I’d ever attended! I was apprehensive before the first session, I needn’t have worried Laura is an amazing teacher. She’s warm, encouraging, knowledgeable and fun, I love her sense of humour. I’v been attending the class for just over a year and now do two sessions per week.
Classes are varied, Laura mixes things up so they never get boring. Her sessions are well balanced, strength, balance, stretching and a lovely relaxation section at the end. Everybody’s favourite part! Laura observes all members, tweaking, encouraging, suggesting alternatives whenever necessary in a discreet manner, she motivates us all in different ways.
Attending the sessions has been a really positive experience for me, I’m gradually getting stronger, I love being a part of the class, all members are friendly and easy company, I look forward to the little catch ups before and after sessions.
I love how I feel after the sessions, they are definitely mood boosting, beneficial both physically and mentally.
Thank you Laura for making the experience so enjoyable, you are the best.
